showing you for months how stolen copper is actually big business on the black market. in june in this surveillance video, two suspects take two loads of copper gutters from a home, load it into a van and drive away in 4 1/2 minutes. >> we were shocked. we were hoping that we got lucky and got them on the tape, but we were amazed at the brazenness of it. >> reporter: that the same month in prince georges county at the shopping plaza, copper crooks stole the copper out of the air conditioners at the beauty school and several other businesses, and in may, there were thieves stealing copper from underground sites throughout dc city locations. >> for us this is new, however, because they're targeting our infrastructure and actually taking copper wire out of our electrical conduit. >> reporter: as far as these two copper suspects arrested in prince georges county, we spoke with a manager at the rockingham construction company who would only say this is an ongoing investigation and they can't comment any further at this time. >> now, as far as police are concerned, this is an ongoing

incredible. it's almost 90 degrees at 10:00 at night. >> shawn, it feels like 108 degrees. that is the big part of this story, that humidity that is so incredible. now we are entering primetime. what we had before was the warm- up to what is going to be the real excessive heat and that gets going around our area tomorrow even hotter than today. 99 degrees at dulles, didn't break any records, but the records are real old am now we have an excessive heat -- old. now we have an excessive heat warning. let me show you the graphic. not only was that excessive heat warning expanded till 10:00 tonight, but it's in effect tomorrow and for saturday. we are looking at three more days of very high temperatures. check out some of the temperatures around the region. it's still 89 degrees we mentioned, most everybody still in the 80s. this is that cumulative effect we were talking about where the temperature just keeps getting warmer because we aren't cooling off at night. it's certainly here in the city with the pavement and concrete and the bricks retain that heat, but it's the heat index and humidity

are the plans that won't happen. i think the big plan to watch is the senate plan that you were talking about that was unveiled today. republicans and democrats are negotiating around that plan tonight. i think that has momentum. speaker boehner's plan he unveiled has already attracted criticism from conservatives as well as some house republicans. so where we stand right now, i don't think you'll get a deal signed into law by august 2nd. i just don't think there's enough time because it takes so much time to move a bill through the senate. could there be a deal by then? yes. >> there's no question americans are completely frustrated that our leaders just can't balance our books. obama said tonight that the american people need to become more vocal. will that even help? are legislators listening? >> i think some people would be frustrated by both speeches. here we have the president of the united states who vowed to change washington. washington is very much as partisan as ever and the head speaker boehner also running against washington criticizing washington and these are the two big washin
